A small shop we may be, but we like to think more compact, with a great display of Aga and Rayburn cookers and cookware and many fun events taking place. Why not spend some time browsing the wide range of goods on offer or picking up tips on using the Aga to the full. We also hold regular cooking Demonstrations and open days for you try food cooked in the Aga. Whatever your reason for visiting you can be sure Rhian (Manager), Debbie and Christine will be happy to see you.

Meet the Aga Shop manager
Rhian
Rhian is a Rayburn owner and has worked in the Aga Shop for about seven years. As a farmer’s wife with a large family, she’s well versed in all types of cooking.

Meet the team

Elen Jones
Elen is a local, welsh speaking farmers wife and daughter. She has a 4 oven Aga bought from this shop and has attended loads of dems here. In fact she loves the Aga so much that she decided to join the company.

Christine
Christine’s been at the Aga Shop for three years and also works part time. She’s very into traveling to far flung places and has picked up lots of foodie ideas on the way.

History
Machynlleth was the ancient capital of Wales and is surrounded by hills and valleys, streams and rivers and the sea. It’s a quaint shopping town and has numerous specialist shops.

Aga in the field
The 2nd annual Welsh Food festival drew large crowds this weekend (1st & 2nd Sept), at the lovely venue of Glasevern Gardens Welshpool.
A two day event with displays of dancing, crafts and lots of stalls with top quality foods and welsh producers.
The Aga took centre stage of the demonstration marquee, where a succession of chefs and food gurus, (including our own Dawn Rhodes and Eirlys Williams), kept audiences enthralled with a fantastic display of cullinary skills and copious amounts of food to taste.
A free prize draw of £100 and £150 worth of Aga gift vouchers was provided by Aga Shop Machynlleth and proved very popular indeed.
The Machynlleth shop staff were beset by members of the public eager for some of the recepies, so I've listed some of the most popular below.
Whilst they were cooking up a storm in the marquee the rain outside held off till the end of the show, a great feat in itself this summer.
Hope to see everyone again next year.

100g courgette - grated

AGA BAGS THE CUP

Rhian, manager of the Aga Shop here in Machynlleth, swept the board in the local Aberhosan show with an amazing 13 prizes out of 16 entries and was therefore awarded the overall winners cup, with her delicious and unusual exhibits.

These included yogurt cake, chilli dip and peach chutney.
Everthing was made on the Aga in store which impressed the judges, fellow competitors and the public alike.

There's only one cause for concern, what can she do for next year?.  Gooseberry and kiwi jam.......!!!!!

Heres proud Rhian with the Cup
And here is the wiining produce

Pancakes A Plenty

Shrove Tuesday came and went in Machynlleth with no pancakes at the Aga Shop, as other commitments caused the staff to be else where. Owing to popular demand from locals and customers we had to hold our popular Pancakes for charity on Ash Wednesday.

Rhian and Chris cooked up the usual storm on the aga making untold numbers of pancakes (till their eyes looked like pancakes) all in aid of Red Nose Day. It is such a popular event that it has become part of the tradition in this part of Mid Wales, a hit with the young and old alike.
