The Aga Shop celebrates its passion for fresh local ingredients with their local food producers
With dedicated talks on quality produce, plenty of freshly cooked foods (and even more to sample!), our Local Life open day proved to be a great local attraction.
From the moment we opened our doors, a steady stream of customers hurried inside to find out more from our fantastic local producers (including a visit from Dame Kelly Holmes!). Aga Demonsrator SueWrigley did a fine job, cooking up tempting treats on our Aga and answering many cookery and Aga questions. From goats cheese and tomato quiche to poppy seed and courgette cake - every inventive dish was and packed with flavour. Most agreed that the combination of our Aga's gentle cooking heat and the premium local ingredients, were a perfect match.
Our producers were fantastic in enlightening everyone on their products, the farming industry, organic and seasonal produce and sustainabilty. Our guest speakers included: Barabara Simmons, Manager of the local Farmers' Market; Mr Jenner of Nut Knowle Farm; John Botterell of Botterells Fish and Keith Dan from Ladywell Organic meats.
Visitors really felt at home in our shop, and loved having so much information on tap - from cooking tips, to Aga facts and of course great advice from our passionate local producers.
