The Aga Shop celebrates its passion for fresh local ingredients with their local food producers

The Aga Shop Bath, held on open day on September 13th -dedicated to our regions local producers. Our event turned out to be a non-stop rollercoaster of fun!

To really get our visitors to know and understand the quality of our local foods, we hosted a range of entertaining activities including Aga cookery demonstrations and talks by some of our local producers. Demonstrator James McIntosh, using various locally sourced ingredients, cooked an assortment of dishes throughout the day, which our customers were encouraged to sample. Mind you, not much encouragement was needed with delicious strawberry cake, salmon pate, roast pork and lamb kebabs easily finding an abundance of voluntary taste-testers!

Graham Symes from Sheepdrove Organic Farm and Butchers, held a well attended carving and butchery class and also spent time disscussing the benefits of organic foods in comparison to mass produced. Jo Edwards of Castle Farm Organics, gave an informative talk on her organic produce, and the process behind running an organic farm.

And while all this activity was happening in and around our kitchen, we held a colouring in competition for our 'little' visitors - with our winners receiving Aga cookshop vouchers and cheerful Aga Kidz textiles.

Visit our Bath Shop webpage, to discover recipes and picures from out event.
