The Aga Shop celebrates its passion for fresh local ingredients with their local food producers
The Ags Shop Knutsford was packed with activity on the 13th September, as the Aga Local Life campaign came to town! From delectable foods, cooking demonstrations and even some traditional wool spinning - our event catered for every interest!
Phyl Lomas, our Aga demonstrator, did us proud. Nothing was a challenge for her as she worked non-stop, cooking delicious treat after delicious treat. Local producer, Ruth , From Waugh Brow Farm also rose to the cooking challenge, and created some mouth-watering dishes on the Aga. Ruth supplied us with an assortment of fresh, local produce to use in our cooking, including sausages and beef. A fine treat, in the form of a delicious goose, was supplied by Holly Tree Farm. Once cooked, the goose was quickly eaten by our customers who were keen to sample the fine flavour of locally reared geese.
The Chairman of our local Parish council (and an Aga fan!) paid us a visit, and took some time to talk to our visitors about the importance of supporting local businesses, and farms. An added highlight to the day was a demonstration with Joanna from White Peak Alpacas, who showed visitors the techniques and practises of traditional spinning.
All our guests commented on how much they enjoyed and learnt on the day. We must admit, we couldn't agree more!
