The Aga Shop celebrates its passion for fresh local ingredients with their local food producers
With an extensive list of local producers, the Aga shop launched the Local Life campaign in the Chester area, with a bang! Despite rather dreary weather, many keen visitors made their way to the Aga shop in order to learn about, and sample, the delicious local produce of the Chester area.
Whether it was cheese, traditionally milled flour, organic vegetables or a good ale - there was without doubt a little piece of local food paradise to relish on the day! Our shop staff were ready and willing to welcome our customers with samples of cheese from the Chester Cheese Shop, ale from Pws Mws Brewery, crudites from the Celyn Veg Box and fresh fruit juices courtesy of Eddisbury Fruit Farm. There were also delightful biscuits and dips on offer - all made by our own food-loving staff.
More food was to be found in the demonstration kitchen, thanks to the skills of Aga demonstrator, Phyl Lomas. Phyl hosted a fantastic bread making workshop, using flour from the Bacheldre Watermill. Her just-baked delights, such as scones and multi-seed bread, quickly caught the attention of our customers. A variety of hearty dishes were cooked throughout the later half of day, using ingredients such as; meat from Edge the Butchers, cheese from the Snowdonian Cheese Company and vegetables from the Celyn Veg Box.
The event was well received, with our customers finding it very informative, entertaining and extremely tasty!
